Dr Sharon Giblin

Consultant Clinical Psychologist Associate

Dr Sharon has over 25 years’ clinical experience, previously in the NHS and now as an independent psychologist, working with children, adolescents and adults. She specialises in child and adolescent psychology, attachment and interpersonal difficulties, trauma, supporting parents/carers, and working with adults with emotional/interpersonal difficulties. She has also worked for more than two decades in specialist CAMHS services (e.g. youth offending, post adoption and fostering services, in-patient CAMHS).

Dr Sharon has worked therapeutically with neurodiverse young people and adults and can help with a broad range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, bereavement and loss, self-harm, trauma (including complex PTSD and developmental trauma), interpersonal difficulties, and identity. She has an interest in helping  young people, and their parents, with a range of emotional and psychological challenges including  time to understand and explore the impact of an Autism/ADHD  diagnosis.

Dr Sharon utilises several therapeutic approaches including Developmental Dyadic Psychotherapy (DDP), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Systemic and Narrative therapy approaches. She is a certified DPP practitioner, an EMDR Therapist, and a registered psychologist with the HCPC. 

Dr Sharon understands that seeking therapeutic support can be daunting and strives to create a welcoming, warm and collaborative space where psychological exploration and reflection can develop. She offers sessions on-line.
