Counselling Psychologist Associate
Dr. Amy Cantwell is a licensed clinical psychologist registered with the HCPC, with over six years of experience working in the NHS and in private practice. She specializes in neurodiversity and complex PTSD. Dr. Amy uses an integrative, neuro-affirmative approach, drawing on the following evidence-based modalities: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. This allows her to tailor her approach to each patient’s individual needs. She is also trained in the ADOS-2, the Autism Clinical Interview for Adults (ACIA), and the DIVA for ADHD assessment. In addition to daytime appointments, she offers flexible weekend and evening appointments to accommodate your schedule. Dr. Amy will dedicate time to assessing and understanding your needs, establishing a therapeutic relationship, and working with you on a collaborative treatment plan focused on your personal therapeutic goals and aimed at reducing your distress and achieving greater well-being. All of this will be done at your own pace, as healing is a personal process that can take time.
